Designing for Complex Learning: Applying the 4C/ID Model
Project Details
This project explores the 4C/ID instructional design model through a visual and conceptual analysis of complex learning. I translated theory into an interactive learning experience using structured sequencing, cognitive load principles, and scaffolded task progression.
The Challenge
Institution: University of North Carolina Greensboro
Role: Instructional Designer
Project Type: School Project for Remote Higher Education Course Design
Delivery: Online / Asynchronous + Synchronous
Timeline: 2026
Many instructional design models are conceptually strong but difficult for learners and stakeholders to grasp quickly. My goal was to translate a dense theoretical framework into an engaging, visually structured learning resource that supports understanding and application.
Conclusion
This work highlights my ability to apply instructional design frameworks to real learning contexts while balancing clarity, engagement, and usability. It reflects my approach to creating purposeful learning experiences that support transfer and performance.
